Bangladesh Indigenous Peoples

In Bangladesh carrying ethnic minorities are Chakma, Marma, Tripura, Tanchangya, Garo, Khumi Manipuri etc. in several regions of the country. Specially In CHT. Having several massacres of indigenous peoples in the CHT(Chittagong Hill Tract), whose social, cultural and economic conditions distinguish them from other sections of the national in Bangladesh. The indigenous peoples differ in physical features, culture and religion from Bengali population of Bangladesh. But, now a days Bangladesh constitution nor any international laws recognize these people as indigenous. Though the Government was said before!

Bangladesh Right's Status

Unfortunately our Bangladesh Governments may miss or wrong about the people of indigenous, whose were living the country side such as all over this country especially in Chittagong Hill Tract about 118 years or more years ago. Large amount of race expanded in Bangladesh.
Sub-class is the government appellation about these peoples. They are sub- class according to constitution of Bangladesh Government. We know, proudly we achieved from UNESCO award in 1999 at 21st February. Bangla is the international mother language day. The consideration of this award everyone may don’t know! Expressly they mentioned that encouragement, conservancy and privilege all languages are their optimism.
In Bangladesh constitution mentioned that, “All children will be educated with their own mother tongue”. But in this constitutions didn’t allow any existence of indigenous race or people without Bangla! They(Govt.) disclaim all language without Bangla. Every country wants to conserve their languages but, why the Bangladesh is not conscious about it!
About 45 races or more have in Bangladesh. Their have own language, literature, cultural historical tradition etc. These aborigines when came this purview (CHT. Tract, Sylhet etc.). There was no villa, ere they are living here. That’s why they are aborigines.

Now the main problem is “Land”. Many aborigines’ lands are ousting from Settlers whose are coming from another districts. Actually sorry to say lots of indigenous people are murdered and harassed by them in every year! Home, shop, market, farm, arable land etc. burned them in every year! You know peace covenant is passed already about 15 years. But conditions of these peace covenants didn’t fill-up yet. Ultimately we forlorn from each Bangladesh Governments.
